Divinity Atlas is a free online encyclopedia of the world’s religions, mythologies and esoteric traditions, built by Interactive Lion and launched in August 2026. It is the first atlas in the Interactive Atlas family, and it covers ancient traditions and modern movements on equal terms - deities, doctrines and denominations alongside tarot cards, runes, fixed stars and alchemical substances. Sourced Facts, Contested Claims
Every claim the atlas marks as established carries a named source, graded for reliability in plain words - the database refuses the claim without one. Contested claims are labeled contested. When traditions genuinely disagree, the atlas records the position as Held Differently rather than treating one side as the baseline the other deviates from. An Open Questions page holds the questions the available evidence does not yet resolve, each stating what evidence would settle it and which field could supply it. Closed ceremonies and restricted material are withheld, with the reason stated on the page.
Claims On Trial
Divinity Atlas offers something no major reference does: a formal, public process for putting its own claims on trial. Any reader can challenge a claim on the record, and the bar is stated up front - point to a specific, checkable source a reviewer can go and read. A challenge that clears it becomes a public case, with a named challenger, evidence re-examined item by item by an independent reviewer, and a published decision with its full reasoning. Dissenting opinions are preserved beside the ruling, decisions can cite earlier cases as precedent, and while a case is open the disputed sentence says so on the page where it appears. Corrections are published, never papered over.
Built For Exploring
A comparison engine sets up to six entries side by side, claim by claim, so a reader can see exactly where two denominations part ways or set one philosophy next to another and watch the overlap appear. A path finder traces the documented connections between any two entries and never bridges a gap with a guess. A spread map follows each tradition’s movement across the world, event by dated event, and guided trails walk a newcomer through a subject in order. Members can test themselves on quizzes, challenge a friend head to head, and follow the entries they care about, and congregations, temples, mosques and orders can hold verified community pages in a worldwide directory.
Readable By Ear As Well As By Eye
The atlas was designed to work as well by ear as by eye. Every page can be read aloud by the site, in deliberate order with sections named. Text scales to twice its size without breaking layout, and no information depends on color or hover alone.
Reference Free, Readings Optional
The reference encyclopedia is free and requires no account. Separately, for readers who want to explore how these traditions have historically been applied to the individual, Divinity Atlas offers optional personalized readings drawn from thirty-six disciplines, from Western, Vedic and Chinese astrology to numerology, tarot, runes, the I Ching and Human Design. Astrological chart positions are calculated from astronomical data rather than generated by AI, and AI-assisted interpretive passages are explicitly identified.
